PROVIDENCE, RI (AP) – in Rhode Island gas prices declined for the fifth week in a row.

AAA Southern New England says in its weekly survey only Monday that regular self-serve unleaded is now 2.64 $ per gallon on average. This is a penny less last week and six cents lower than the average national.

The average price at the same time last year in Rhode Island has been $ 2.66.

Judge at the right side of voting blocks challenge

A federal judge of Rhode Island has blocked a challenge to stop the right part of voting.

U.S. District Judge William Smith Wednesday rejected an offer to declare unconstitutional the option part right, allowing voters select candidates from the same party by making a single mark on the ballot.

Robert Healey, an independent candidate for Governor, had called a party right voting unconstitutional and argued that it confused électeurs.Il wanted the option removed the ballot.

But, after hours hearing testimony, the judge ruled that Healey had failed in a case and dismissed his challenge.
