North named new Ch. 12 morning anchor
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Eyewitness News has officially named Danielle North as a permanent member of its very talented morning team on WPRI 12 and Fox Providence.
North will co-anchor Eyewitness News This Morning, which airs weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on WPRI and from 7a.m. to 8 a.m. on Fox Providence, with Patrick Little and Meteorologist Michelle Muscatello. The team also then hosts The Rhode Show on Fox Providence from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Eyewitness News at Noon.
“Danielle brings a great combination of credibility, experience and enthusiasm to mornings,” said News Director Joe Abouzeid.
North, who previously anchored Eyewitness News This Morning on the weekends, said she is thrilled to be waking up Southern New England every morning.
North has been with Eyewitness News since making the trek south from New Hampshire back in 1999. She has covered many of the big stories in New England over the years, including several presidential primaries dating back to 1996. Her personal favorite was reporting from the red carpet in Los Angeles for the very first season of Survivor, when a Rhode Islander took home the big prize.
North, a graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont, began her journalism career at WVNY-TV in Burlington and also worked for WMUR-TV in Manchester, N.H. In fact, she worked with Little before he also made the move to Rhode Island.
When she’s not in studio, North said you can probably find her running around all over the West Bay with her three young children or husband.
