Search police for suspected fatality

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – police in Pawtucket are looking for a suspect in a fatal car accident.

Police say that Manning James 37 years of Woonsocket has been the driver in an accident on the mineral spring avenue on 19 September.

Police say that Manning was drunk when he led to a fire red and is entered into collision with another voiture.Un friends of Manning, Fritz Daleus, 36, Milford, Massachusetts died of his injuries sustained in the incident.

Manning was initially accused of driving with a suspended license and was cited for driving through the red light.However, investigators have determined that alcohol was involved in the accident and were Manning charged with driving under the influence, resulting in death.

Anyone with information on the comings and goings of Manning is asked to call the police Pawtucket.

RI teachers face difficulties in finding work

PROVIDENCE, RI (AP) – a weak economy that forced officials to close schools and a student population decline makes it difficult for teachers to find a job.

Two of the largest districts in Rhode Island, Providence, and Warwick, much less for the academic year 2010-2011 as teachers hired in the past.

And students less may also explain troubles for the labour market.

In the past five years, the number of pupils in Rhode Island public schools has dropped from 151,600 to 140,900, approximately 7%.

The Western Interstate Commission for higher education estimates that the number of secondary school graduates Rhode Island drop an additional 7 per cent by 2020.

However, Rhode Island has a teaching force slightly more âgése than the national average, and many teachers may consider retirement in the coming years.

BOSTON, MASS.(AP) – drivers in Massachusetts, who need text while behind the steering wheel to break the habit – and fast.

This week, Massachusetts becomes 30 State to introduce a ban on testing in addition to States have cracked down on distracted driving.

Tiverton suggested for wind farm site

TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) – a new study says Tiverton industrial park is the best place to Park wind multitown.

The study by the Bay energy consortium is scheduled to be presented to City Council on Monday.

The consortium was created year by communities of Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton Little Compton, Bristol, Warren, Barrington, East Providence last.

Garry Plunkett, representing Tiverton on consortium, indicates the Newport daily this wind placing several communities on the same site could dramatically reduce development costs.

Projected cost range of $ 63 million to $ 50 million.

Analysis of site is among the first steps of a process that includes more data technology, legal, financial and trust analyses.

Marijuana-seller in court accused

TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) – man Tiverton a arrested and accused of trafficking in marijuana is due to the Court for a hearing Monday violation.

Shayne Costa, 50, will be held at the ICA in Cranston.Il is charged with a number of felony possession, manufacture and delivery of 11 pounds of marijuana.

Prosecutors seek a long imprisonment for Costa violating the conditions of his 2006 felony drug, in which he was convicted of growing marijuana plants 28 on its property conviction.

Costa was arrested earlier in September for allegedly growing over 100 plants on his property.

Rollover links up to 10 Vasút in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI (WPRI) – a rollover 10 Cranston road crash stop morning commute on Monday.

State police and emergency crews were called to the scene around 9: 20 a.m. for two cars carried on Highway reports.

When a new eyewitness crew arrived on stage, they saw a car on its roof.There is no word if there is actually a second car involved.

On stage crews said that injuries do not seem to be serious.

PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – the 14-year-old boy that caused the fatal accident that killed a young girl 9 years Cranston this weekend to say the police before the judge first ending Monday morning.

RI Gets $ 22. 8 M to prevent the forclosures

RI inches slightly down gas prices

The price of gasoline has crept down a penny to 2.64 $ for a gallon ordinary unleaded in Rhode Island.

 

AAA of Southern New England said Monday that the price in Rhode Island has held steady, simply move a penny upwards or downwards for the past four weeks.

The price is higher than a year at this time and the five cents lower than the average of six hundred national.

Tests show no new SCS, cases of AIS

PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – the good news continues on West Nile virus and encephalitis equidae – no new cases have cropped in Rhode Island. Recent testing by the Department of environmental management of 62 mosquito pools and 38 traps are all negative for diseases.

The DEM said, however, constant vigilance is still required until first frost. They advise that you should avoid bites by using screens on Windows and doors, putting mosquito playpens and carriages compensation when they are outside and covering the dawn and dusk.

When you use mosquitos repellent, make sure that the product has more than 30% DEET and do not use insect repellent everything on infants.

The continuous test DEM and trapping mosquitoes weekly scale and report once a week.Tests are conducted in the Ministry of health Rhode Island.

Earlier this year, two swimming pools of mosquitoes test positive for EEE and positive pools tested two mosquitoes to SCS.Un another virus also appears this year: the virus region j, which is often seen as in songbirds who live close to swamps, appeared in two pools of mosquitoes.
