Construction begins on route 117

Construction began on Monday to repair the three sections of roadway damaged during late March flooding.

Work will be done during the day and night and should be competed in October.

Research turns into recovery out of Narragansett

A search for a 25-year-old man reported missing in the water approximately two miles south of Narragansett City beach close to risk rock has transformed in an effort to restore, officials said Monday. 

Samnang Nou, her mother, aunt and cousin, all Lowell, mass., fished out risk Rock Sunday, when a large wave struck his three relatives in water.  Nou jumped into the water to help.

Alligator pond Portsmouth; people in custody

A three-foot-long alligator was spotted at a pond in Rhode Island, and authorities are working on a plan to capture.

Lieutenant Portsmouth police detective Brian Peters says that the animal has been first Saturday spotted Sisson Pond.Autorités of Portsmouth and the Department of management environmental status given themselves Monday.

RI gov candidates meet in Newport forum

Governors of Rhode Island candidates discussed the economy, creating jobs, casino gaming and other questions in a forum of Newport.

Seven candidates took part on Monday at the Community College of Rhode Island Newport campus forum.

Forum took place just two weeks before primary election 14 septembre.La discussion remained mainly civil as candidates were not given a chance to discuss with each other, but were instead asked pre-selected on a variety of topics.

Candidates are seeking to replace Republican Gov’t.Don Carcieri, who came to his second and final term.

The following Governor will lead a State with a rate of unemployment higher in the nation.

Police looking for Michael Brooks, 48, Narragansett who remains at large.

Police say that threatened Brooks a 68 years with a screwdriver in store parking Sunday afternoon .the woman got away with her purse.

Brroks is also wanted for similar flights in North Kingstown and Narragansett.

Brown, restaurant reach agreement on liquor licence
